Frequently Asked Question
How downloads should be measured can be found in the technical document of the IAB. To give some examples:
if someone loads an episode several times in a row, it counts as 1 download
if someone restarts an episode within the length of the episode, it is also counted as 1 download
bots (computers that scour the internet) are excluded.
The IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau) has established a standard for how podcasts should be measured. Everyone is free to follow this standard, but we want to be transparent about how we do it.
